E-mail & SMTP

Outgoing mail — the SMTP connection, whether sending is switched on at all, and the templates used for notifications and bulk mail — all live on one page: Emails.

In the sidebar, go to System > Emails. This page is open to admin, accountant and reseller accounts; only emails.manage lets an account edit the SMTP settings or send a test mail.

Email templates: the sending toggle, the SMTP card, and the template list.

SMTP sending

The SMTP card is where an outgoing mail server is connected. On a fresh install these fields are empty; the placeholders below only show the expected shape of each value.

SMTP sending — server, port, login, password, sender and batch size.
FieldMeaning
SMTP server / PortThe outgoing mail server's hostname and port.
Login (SMTP user) / PasswordThe mail account's credentials. The password field is always shown empty — leaving it empty on save keeps the stored one unchanged.
SenderThe from-address customers see.
Batch sizeHow many messages the cron daemon sends per run.
Test mail toSends one real message through the saved settings, without touching any template or customer.
Note

Email sending is a separate switch at the top of the page. Even with a working SMTP connection, nothing goes out while it says Inactive.

Templates

Below the SMTP card, every notification and bulk-mail template is listed with its subject, format (html or plain) and how many times it has been sent. Several — password reminders, balance warnings, account-blocked notices, low-disk-space alerts, invoices — are built-in System templates; an account with template rights can add its own.

Mail outbox

The Mail outbox button (next to the sending toggle) opens the log of what was actually sent — separate from the template list above, and from a device's own voicemail mail log.

Check

After saving SMTP settings, use Test mail to with your own address and confirm it arrives; then confirm the Email sending switch says Active before relying on any automatic notification.
