Quick Start

From a fresh system to your first call. Eight short steps: add a provider, price your calls, route them, create a customer and a device, connect a phone, and place — and see — the first call.

By the end of this guide, Voiplix will have carried one real, billed phone call. You will add a carrier to send calls through, price that traffic, tell Voiplix which carrier to use, create a customer and a phone, and then place a call and watch it appear — with a charge — in the system.

Time needed: about 20 minutes.

Before you start

You will need:

  • A working Voiplix install, reachable in your browser.
  • An admin login for it.
  • A SIP carrier (provider) account you can send test calls through — the hostname/IP, port, and a login and password if the carrier requires registration.
  • A softphone app (for example Zoiper or Linphone) or a SIP desk phone, for step 7.
Note

A fresh install has no traffic yet — every screen you see in this guide starts empty. That is expected, not a problem to fix.
