3Step 3 of 8

3. Tariffs — buy & sell rates

How to set up a buy tariff (what the provider charges you) and a sell tariff (what you charge your customer), with rates per prefix.

A tariff is a priced rate table. Voiplix uses two kinds for one call: a buy tariff (what your provider charges you) and a sell tariff (what you charge your customer). This step creates both.

Open Tariffs

In the sidebar, go to Routing > Tariffs. The list is split into Provider tariffs (buy), Wholesale tariffs and User tariffs (sell).

The Tariffs list: buy tariffs on top, sell tariffs (User tariffs) at the bottom.

Select Create tariff to make a new one, or Edit to open an existing tariff's name, type and currency.

Add rates

Open Rates on a tariff to price destinations. Each rate is a prefix (a country or number range), a price per minute, and the billing increment.

Rates for a sell tariff — one row per destination prefix.

What each field means

FieldMeaning
PrefixThe leading digits of the destination number this rate applies to.
RatePrice per minute for that destination.
Connection feeA fixed amount charged once per call, on top of the per-minute rate.
Increment (s)How call time is rounded up for billing — for example 60 bills in full-minute steps.
Min. time (s)The minimum duration every answered call is billed for.
Warning

A sell tariff only charges calls once it is assigned to a user — you will do that in step 5. Rates alone charge no one.

Check

Open Rates on your sell tariff and confirm the destination you plan to call in step 8 has a price.
