8. First call and first charge
How to place the first call, then find it in the call list, open its details, and see the balance change.
Everything is connected. Now place a call and watch it turn into a billed record.
Dial
From your softphone, dial a number that matches a rate in your sell tariff (step 3) — for example a destination you added there. Let it connect and hang up after a few seconds.
Find the call
In the sidebar, go to Overview > Calls. Your call appears as a new row, most recent first.
Select the row to open its full details.
What each field means
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
Duration | Total call time, including setup. |
Billsec | The billed seconds after the tariff's minimum time and increment are applied. |
User Rate | The per-minute price from your sell tariff for this destination. |
User Price | What this call actually cost the customer — the amount taken from their balance. |
Provider (Terminator) | Which carrier from your LCR actually carried the call. |
User Price and Provider Price are two different numbers on the same call: User Price is what you charged the customer (from the sell tariff); Provider Price is what the carrier charged you (from the buy tariff on step 2's provider). The difference between them is your margin on that call — in the demo data, an 11-second call bills a full minute at 0.042, against a provider cost of 0.028.
Check the balance
Open the user from step 5 again (Customers > Users). The BALANCE card at the top is lower than before the call, by exactly the call's User Price.
Check
You have a working Quick Start when all three are true: the call shows ANSWERED in Calls, its detail page shows a non-zero User Price, and the user's balance dropped by that same amount.
