Voicemail

Every device can have its own voicemail box: a password, an e-mail address for notifications, custom greetings, and the messages themselves.

Turn on voicemail

Open a device and select the Voicemail tab. Check Voicemail active, then fill in the mailbox settings.

EmailWhere new-message notifications are sent.
Full nameThe mailbox owner's name, used in notifications and the spoken-name greeting.
Delete message after sending by emailOnce a message has been e-mailed, remove it from the mailbox instead of keeping a copy.
Enable MWI (message waiting indicator)Light up the phone's voicemail/message lamp when there is a new message.
MWI subscriptionLet the phone itself subscribe to be told about new messages, instead of only being notified at call time.
Skip intro messageGo straight to the beep after the greeting, instead of playing the "please leave a message after the tone" introduction first.

Messages and greetings

Below the settings, the Messages panel lists everything in the Inbox and Old folders, with a player, date, caller and duration for each — or delete a message outright (there is no recycle bin). A full folder (100 messages) automatically drops its five oldest so callers can keep leaving new ones.

The Greetings panel is what a caller actually hears. Upload any audio file — Voiplix converts it to the format the phone system needs.

Messages and greetings for a device's mailbox. Without a greeting, the built-in one plays.
GreetingWhen it plays
TemporaryReplaces every other greeting while it is set — useful for "out of office today" without touching the real greetings.
UnavailablePlayed when nobody answers or the phone cannot be reached.
BusyPlayed when the extension is busy.
Spoken nameThe name of this mailbox, spoken aloud — used when someone looks the mailbox up by name.

Check

With Voicemail active checked and the Callflow tab's relevant situation set to voicemail, call the device, let it go to voicemail, and confirm the message appears in the Inbox and the notification e-mail arrives (if MWI/e-mail is configured).
