Recordings
Recordings in the sidebar lists every call recording the system has kept, with a built‑in player, a search, and — for staff who may delete — a bulk‑delete tool. A separate Permissions page controls, per user, whether recording is on and how long recordings are kept.
Searching
The form above the table searches by From (source) / To (destination) and a date range (From/Till). Staff also see a running total: how many recordings are shown out of the total size on disk, in MB.
The player and download
Each row with a recording still on disk shows a standard audio player inline — press play, no extra page needed. A Download link next to it saves the file. A recording that has since been auto‑deleted shows neither: instead the row says "Automatically deleted on …" with the date, so the entry stays as a record even after the audio itself is gone.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
Duration | Length of the recorded call. |
Size | File size in MB — shown as a dash once the recording has been auto‑deleted (it takes up no disk space any more). |
Record | The inline player, or the auto‑deleted note. |
Download | Only present while the file is still on disk. |
How long a recording is kept
Retention is set per user on the Permissions page (linked from the recordings list, staff only), next to whether recording is Active and Enforced for that user, a disk quota, and a notification e‑mail.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
Active | Whether this user's calls get recorded at all. |
Enforced | Recording cannot be switched off by the user themself. |
Quota (MB) | A warning threshold, not a hard limit — passing it does not stop recording. |
Keep recordings for | Unlimited, a preset (1/3/6/12 months), or Custom number of days. |
Days | Only used when "Custom number of days" is selected. |
Recordings older than the retention setting are deleted automatically every night after 23:00 — a month counts as 30 days. This is a real, irreversible deletion of the audio file; the list entry itself is kept as proof that a recording once existed.
Check
If a recording you expect isn't playable, check whether its row already shows "Automatically deleted on …" before assuming something is broken — that is retention working as configured, not a fault.
