Importing rates from a CSV file
A carrier's rate sheet is usually a spreadsheet, not a form you fill in row by row. The rate import wizard reads it, lets you map its columns, shows exactly what will change, and only then applies it.
Open a tariff's Rates page and select CSV import (or go directly to the tariff and choose Import). The wizard has four steps, shown as a row of tabs at the top of the page: File, "Spalten & Optionen" (Columns & Options), "Vorschau" (Preview) and "Fertig" (Done).
An import can overwrite every rate in the tariff, and — if Update destination names is checked — rename destinations that every other tariff shares too. Read the Preview step's numbers before you run it, and try a new or spare tariff first if you are not sure your column mapping is right.
Step 1 — File
Choose the CSV file, then tell Voiplix how to read it.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
CSV file | The file to read (.csv or plain text). |
Column separator | Semicolon, comma, tab or pipe — whatever your file uses between columns. |
Decimal separator | Dot or comma, for how prices are written in the file. |
First line is the header | Checked if row 1 is column titles, not data. |
Step 2 — Columns & options
A preview of your file's first rows is shown by column number, so you can match each Voiplix field to the right one.
What each field means
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
Prefix * | Required. Which column holds the destination prefix. |
Rate * | Required. Which column holds the price per minute. |
Destination Name | Column with a human-readable name for the prefix (used to create or, if checked below, rename the destination). |
Country code (CC) | Column with the destination's country/direction code (for example DEU for Germany). |
Connection fee / Increment (s) / Min. time (s) / Valid from (effective_from) / Block/Unblock / Action (DELETE) | Optional columns for the matching rate fields — leave any of them at — none — to skip it, or set it once for every row below instead. |
Start time / End Time / Day type / Valid from (manual) | Applied to every imported row alike, instead of reading it per-row from the file. |
Connection fee (fixed) / Increment (fixed) / Min. time (fixed) | A single value for every row, used when the file itself has no such column. |
High rate warning threshold | Flag rows priced above this amount in the preview, so you can catch an obvious typo before importing it. |
Update destination names | Rename an existing destination to match the file's Destination Name column. Off by default — destinations are shared with every other tariff. |
Delete rates that were not imported | Remove any existing rate in this tariff whose prefix is not in the file. |
Step 3 — Preview
Select Analyse to see exactly what the import would do, without changing anything yet.
Error lines above zero adds a table underneath listing the exact row and reason, so you can fix the file and re-upload rather than guessing.
Step 4 — Done
Select Run import to apply it for real.
Check
Select To the rates and confirm the prices you expect are now on the tariff's Rates page.
