Call tracing / listen in
In the sidebar, go to Monitoring > Call Tracing. It shows every call in progress, live, with the option to listen in on one via ChanSpy or end it.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
Source / Destination | The caller's number and the number being called, with the caller name if known. |
User / Provider | The customer account and the provider carrying this leg. |
Channel | The Asterisk channel name for this call. |
Duration | How long the call has been running. |
Status | Connected once answered, ringing before that. |
Listening in (ChanSpy)
Three icons per row (when the signed-in account has the right to spy) put the operator's own phone into the call, using their configured spy device:
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| Listen in | Passive — you hear both sides, neither side hears you. |
| Whisper | Only the side being monitored hears you — useful for coaching an agent without the other party noticing. |
| Barge in | Both sides hear you — you join the call. |
Picking a mode does not connect audio in the browser — it calls the signed-in account's own spy device (a registered phone/extension). That device has to ring and be picked up. With no spy device configured, nothing will happen. This also means listening in is tied to a real person's phone, not an anonymous web action.
Ending a call
The Hang up icon ends the call outright, after a confirmation prompt — a real, immediate hangup on a live call, available to the same accounts that can see the Hang up action on Active calls (live).
This test system had no calls in progress while writing this page, so the screenshot above shows the empty state — the ChanSpy and Hang up icons only appear next to an actual row. Nothing was dialled, listened in on, or hung up to write this section.
Check
Open Call Tracing during a real call to confirm it appears within 10 seconds; the row's Status switches from ringing to Connected the moment it is answered.
