SMS tariffs and rates

What a message to a given destination costs, entered once by staff on the tariff's Rates page and shown to the customer under SMS tariffs.

An SMS tariff is an ordinary Tariff — see What SMS is in Voiplix for why. Everything below is the same Rates screen used for voice tariffs; the only difference is that an SMS rate is a flat price per message, not a per-minute rate.

Entering rates (staff)

Open the tariff from Routing > Tariffs and click Rates. Add country adds a destination with its price; the same row also has a CSV import/export and a bulk "high rates" tool, same as any tariff.

Rates for "Demo SMS Tariff": one row per destination prefix.
Note

The Rate form still shows the voice fields Increment (s), Min. time (s), Connection fee and Ghost minutes % — it is the same form used for a per-minute tariff. For SMS only Rate matters: one price, charged once per message.

What a customer sees

A subscribed customer opens SMS > SMS tariffs to see prices for their own assigned tariff, filtered by the first letter of the destination's name:

A customer's own SMS tariff, filtered to "S" for Switzerland.

Prefix finder

Staff (admin, accountant, reseller) can look up whether a number or prefix has a rate at all, under SMS > Prefix finder. It checks the rate against your own account's assigned SMS tariff — an administrator account that is not itself subscribed to SMS will correctly get "no rate", since it has no SMS tariff of its own:

Prefix finder checks the logged-in account's own tariff — here, the admin has none.

Check

Open a subscribed customer's SMS tariffs page and confirm the destination you care about appears with a price — if it does not, the tariff assigned to that customer (see Sending an SMS) is missing a rate for that prefix, and sending to it will fail.
