Currencies and exchange rates

Every tariff has one currency, and every rate in it is priced in that currency's units. The currency list is where those units — and the rate they convert at — are managed.

Open Currencies

In the sidebar, go to Customers > Currencies (admin only).

The Currencies list — EUR is the default here, so it always shows an exchange rate of 1.00.

What each column means

ColumnMeaning
Name / Full nameThe currency code (for example EUR) and its written-out name.
Exchange rateHow many units of this currency equal one unit of the default currency.
ActiveWhether this currency can currently be chosen for a tariff.
Auto-updateWhether Update rates now refreshes this currency's exchange rate.
UpdatedWhen the exchange rate was last set.
Note

Update rates now pulls the European Central Bank's daily reference rates (eurofxref). Only currencies with Auto-update on are refreshed; the default currency always stays fixed at 1.

The default currency

One currency is the Default — the reference every other exchange rate is quoted against. Select Set as default on another currency's row to make it the new default instead.

Editing the default currency — its name and rate are locked; use "Set as default" elsewhere to change which currency this is.

How this affects tariffs

A tariff's Currency field (see Tariff types) fixes the unit every rate in it is priced in — a rate is always just a plain number in that currency, never converted on the fly. The exchange rate matters when Voiplix has to compare or convert between tariffs of different currencies — for example, generating one tariff from another with Delta value / Delta percent, which multiplies by the exchange rate between the two currencies as part of the conversion.

Check

Open a currency's edit page and confirm its Exchange rate is what you expect before relying on it for a cross-currency conversion.
