User groups (end-customer permissions)
Not to be confused with a reseller or accountant's own permissions — a User Group is a fine-grained permission template you can hand to end-customer ("user"-type) accounts, one area at a time.
This is a different screen from Reseller Permissions / Accountant Permissions (the operator's own staff permission groups) — those are covered on the Administration section's System users & permissions page. User Groups are for the end customers below you, and any of Admin, Accountant or Reseller can maintain its own set.
Open it
In the sidebar, go to RESELLER > User Groups (the item sits in the Reseller menu even though it's about end customers, not resellers themselves — see The Reseller menu). An Admin or Accountant manages the operator's own set here; a Reseller signed in sees the same item for its own set only.
Create one
Fill in a Name and an optional Comment in the form at the top of the page, and select Create.
Saving takes you straight to the group's own permissions page — one row per area, each with a dropdown:
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
Name / Comment | Shown wherever the group can be picked — on a user's own account, and in this list. |
| Each area row | One end-customer-portal feature (Personal details, Devices, Rates, Payments, Invoices, Financial statements, Subscriptions, Calls, Active calls, Graphs, Recordings, DIDs, CLIs, PhoneBook, Quick Forwards, and more further down the page) with its own No access / read / write choice — set independently, not an all-or-nothing switch. |
The list
Back on User Groups, every group created so far is listed below the new-group form, with the number of end-customer accounts currently using each one:
Once a group exists, assign it to an end customer from that user's own account — the assigned group's read/write choices then apply to what that one customer can do (for example, in its own customer portal) wherever the product checks this permission layer.
Check
After creating a group, open Permissions on its row and confirm every area still reads "No access" — grant only what that group of customers is actually meant to see, one row at a time.
