Creating and editing a user

The full user form, field by field: who they are, how they're billed, what they're allowed to spend, and where their calls are routed.

Open Customers > Users > New user to create one, or click a username (or its pencil icon) in the list to edit an existing one. Both use the same form — editing only locks the Balance field (more on that in Balance top-ups and payments) and, unless you're an Admin, the Type field.

The new-user form — Master data and Finance on the left, Routing and contact details on the right.

Master data

FieldMeaning
Username / PasswordThe account's login. On the edit form, Password is labelled "empty = unchanged" — leave it blank to keep the current one.
TypeThe account role — see Account types (roles).
First Name / Last NameThe account holder's name, shown throughout the interface and on invoices.
LanguageThe interface language this account sees; "System default" follows the system setting.
Time ZoneUsed only for the time periods in this user's devices' call flow (voicemail before the call, and on no answer/busy/failure). Invoices and call lists are not affected.
Postpaid (otherwise prepaid)Unchecked (the default) means prepaid — the account needs balance to call out. Checked means postpaid — see Billing: prepaid vs. postpaid, balance and credit limit below.
BlockedSuspends the account — see Blocking below.

Billing: prepaid vs. postpaid, balance and credit limit

These live in the Finance section of the form.

FieldMeaning
BalanceThe account's balance. Editable only when creating a user — once the account exists, the balance is only changed through the balance actions (see Balance top-ups and payments), never by editing this field directly.
Balance min / Balance maxGuard rails some balance actions respect.
CreditHow far a postpaid account may go negative before it's stopped — "Unlimited only takes effect for postpaid". Tick Unlimited for no cap.
CurrencyThe currency the balance, credit and rates are shown in for this account.

A prepaid user (the default) simply needs a positive balance to place calls — once it runs out, outbound calling stops. A postpaid user can keep calling into negative balance up to the Credit limit (or without limit, if Unlimited is ticked); Minimal charge also only applies once Postpaid is checked.

Warning

A prepaid user with no balance cannot make outbound calls. If a new customer can't call out, this is the first thing to check.

Call limits

FieldMeaning
Daily credit limitA per-day spending cap, separate from the overall Credit limit above. Tick Unlimited (the default for a new user) to remove it, or untick it and set a number.
Max. call rateA ceiling on the per-minute rate this account can be charged, regardless of what a tariff would otherwise charge.

Blocking

The Blocked checkbox on the form suspends the account immediately — a blocked user shows a red Blocked badge on their detail page and list row instead of the green Active one, and cannot place calls. The same toggle is also available as the warning-triangle quick action directly from the users list, without opening the full form.

Routing: tariff and LCR

FieldMeaning
TariffThe sell tariff that prices this user's calls.
LCRThe routing rule used for this user's outbound calls.
PBX PoolUser-type accounts only: which PBX pool new devices for this user join by default.
Quickforwards RuleAdmin and Reseller accounts only: the quickforward rule template applied to this user's devices.

A few more fields round out the form: Generate invoices (whether the billing run produces invoices for this account), a blacklist/whitelist pair for source and destination number pools (edit mode only), and a Notification & contact section (warning e-mail balance/threshold, e-mail, city, phone, comment).

The user's detail page and tabs

After saving, the account opens on its detail page: the username, its Type and postpaid/prepaid badges, and an Active or Blocked status badge across the top, followed by a tab bar and the same form pre-filled.

A user's detail page: badges, tabs, the balance card, then the same form.
TabShows
AllgemeinThe default tab — this is the general master-data/finance/routing form above. (The label itself is shown in German even on an English system — not a translation you need to change anything for, just how it currently reads.)
Device groupsUser-type accounts only: the device groups this customer's devices belong to.
Custom-RatesPer-destination rate overrides for this one customer, on top of their assigned tariff — pick a destination group and click Add custom rate.
CarriersOnly shown once PBX is enabled for the account.
The Custom-Rates tab — per-destination overrides for one customer.

The Device groups tab is its own small screen — a "New group" form plus a table of this user's groups (every user starts with one, named primary), each row renamable and showing how many devices currently belong to it:

Device groups — every user starts with one, called "primary".

Device groups matter together with User groups (a different, confusingly similar name — that page is about end-customer permissions, not device organisation) and with per-group call/device rules covered in the devices section.

Check

Open the new user and confirm Tariff and LCR show what you assigned, and — for a prepaid user — that Balance is above zero before you hand it to anyone.
