Account types (roles)

Every account in Voiplix has a Type, set once on the user form. It decides which parts of the system the account can reach — from full administration down to a single customer's own portal.

You'll see the same five values in the Type field on the user form and in the Type column of the Users list:

One of each type, side by side, in the Type column.

The five types

TypeWhat it can do
Admin (full access)Full system access: every menu, every customer's account, system settings, and the only type that can create a second Admin account.
AccountantAdministrative and billing access alongside Admin — CDR management, stats, invoices, payments, users — without the operator-wide system settings that stay Admin-only (currencies, Voicemail settings, global routing, and similar).
ResellerManages its own set of customers only (see Resellers) — tariffs, routing, DIDs, payments, credit notes and services, all scoped to the customers it owns.
PartnerThe same own-customers scope as a Reseller, but fewer administrative screens — for example no DIDs, payments, credit notes or services management. Suited to a partner who needs visibility into their customers more than full account management.
UserThe end customer. Does not see the admin interface at all — logs into their own customer portal and sees only their own calls, invoices, devices and numbers.
Note

"User" is the only type that is a customer in the billing sense — it's the type with a Tariff, an LCR and a balance. The other four are staff/management accounts and generally show "—" for Tariff.

Postpaid / prepaid, independent of type

Every account (not just customers) also carries a Postpaid (otherwise prepaid) setting — that's the small badge next to the type in the list. It matters most for a User account: a prepaid user needs balance to place calls; a postpaid one can go into a credit limit instead. See Creating and editing a user.

Who can create which type

The Type dropdown on the New user form only offers what your own role is allowed to hand out:

  • An Admin can create any of the five types, including a second Admin.
  • Accountant, Reseller and Partner can create User, Reseller, Accountant or Partner accounts (never Admin) — new accounts land inside their own scope.

Check

On the Users list, filter by Type to confirm your own staff accounts are the roles you expect — an unexpected second Admin or Accountant account is worth investigating.
