More PBX features
The PBX menu holds more than IVRs, ring groups and queues — this section covers the rest of it: a shared phonebook, BLF key lamps, hold music, the small building blocks an IVR draws on, feature codes, a Kazoo cloud-PBX connector, the Quickforward rules that gate DID forwarding, and the in-browser softphone.
The core call-handling building blocks — IVR menus, ring groups, queues, devices and PBX pools — are covered in Devices & PBX. Quickforward's DID-facing half — the dial plan and assigning it to a number — is covered in Inbound routing and callflows; this section covers the rule that gates it, from the PBX menu.
Several of these screens are staff-only (Cloud PBX is admin-only; PBX functions, Music on hold and Quickforward settings need staff access). Phonebook, BLF groups, External DIDs, Quickforward rules and the Softphone are also available to end customers, from their own menu.
The eight pages
- 1Phonebook — a shared list of names and numbers
- 2BLF groups — busy-lamp keys on a phone
- 3Music on hold — classes callers hear while waiting
- 4Voices, sound files and time periods — IVR building blocks
- 5PBX functions and External DIDs — feature codes
- 6Cloud PBX — connecting an external Kazoo server
- 7Quickforward rules — which DIDs a customer may use
- 8Softphone — a SIP phone in the browser
Every screenshot in this section uses the small demo objects the wiki set up on Devices & PBX's demo account — "Demo Company" and its two devices, extensions 1010 and 1004 — so the screens are never empty for no reason.
